By means of meditation we can teach our minds to be calm and balanced; within this calmness is a richness and a potential, an inner knowledge which can render our lives boundlessly satisfying and meaningful. While the mind may be what traps us in unhealthy patterns of stress and imbalance, it is also the mind which can free us. Through meditation, we can tap the healing qualities of mind. - Tarthang Tulku
Balance is not without emotion. Balance is not without feeling. Balance is not just sitting in the center letting everything go by without interaction or care. Balance is a positive as well as a negative. Balance reaches outward to everything and brings it in, embraces it, and releases. The balance and calm come from practice. It does not always just happen. Meditation requires practice. Sitting and being. Listening to others. They say that prayer is the talking with god. Meditation is the listening to god. Often we listen and learn best from others. People are the mouthpiece of god. Gaining insight and care into the world through interactions with others. Through a seeking of a higher state of being. To seek growth, to seek love, to seek happiness, to seek abundance, to seek peace. Manifest these aspect of living that provide growth and care. Manifest these things with care.
Reminded of a story. There is a fellow who drinks a lot. He drinks to excess and it is destroying his life. He goes to his family often asking for money and support and then goes and drinks up everything. He goes to his brother and asks for money. His brother gives him the money and says, "this is the last time I am going to give you money." The fellow who is the drinker died the next day. It was the last time his brother could give him money.
The true holy person who follows their practice and the words of the Buddha, who applies that teaching to their everyday life, will light up the world with their beauty. (The Holy Person, v381-382)
When walking hand in hand with the spirit of the universe man is at one with the universe. We reside within the spirit and the spirit within us. The light the emanates outward from one who is in the spirit shines for the world to see. Wondrous.
Life is a constant flow and it never stops. The experience of today is only valid for today... tomorrow will be a new day where all has to be started again. - Dharma
The flow of life. Each day is a new beginning. the mistakes made yesterday hopefully have been learned from and the harm done to others put right. The healing process can begin and the proper flow of life and walk with the spirit continues. The lessons of yesterday examined and built upon. growth and learning in this new day. Tomorrow the dream will come to pass soon enough. Today is the flow. Today is the only day that matters. Doing today the next right thing.
THIS which is seeking is THAT which is sought, and THAT which is sought is THIS which is seeking. 'All Else is Bondage; Non-Volitional Living' - Wei Wu Wei
Seeking and sought are the same. Sought and seeking are the same. Seeking and soughting. Better to seek the sought then Be a sot who seeks. As a sot who sought forever would seek that which could not be sought. But in the seeking one finds not that which is sought. And so the mind goes seeking conclusions and circles.
Reality is all-encompassing: the absolute nature is one. Although we may feel separate from the original uncreated reality - whether we call it 'God,' 'peak experience,' or 'enlightened mind' - through awareness we can contact this essential part of ourselves. - Tarthang Tulku
Today I focus on abundance, peace, love, joy, and harmony. A mantra of sorts. For abundance. Through peace all things are possible.
That peak experience of being one with god at a moment in time is amazing. Coming to bring that peak experience that communion with the divine into the present moment. Every moment would be wonderful. To be continually in harmony and in the presence of the spirit.
