Morning Zen

slight irritability. Like a scratch or a hangnail or a itchy spot. Stemming I think from this mornings radio on Martin Luther King Jr. Forty years ago he was assassinated. To hear words from this preacher, words from people who listened, words from leaders. I wonder what happened. Words like this are rare. And then forty years and what have I done for the dream. What can I show for the dream. What?

reach out and treat with kindness all whom you intersect. there is no enemy greater than oneself, if one allows it to be.
smile and make someone happy,
assist and make another happy,
gently encourage and the result may surprise.
offer the unexpected....though some why shy from your offer scared by the skepticism of our society.
there was once a time when a smile and an offering were not viewed with suspicion. our society has indulged in destroying trust.
happy weekend.

wow, how nicely put. makes me think of a time I told a stranger working in an airport "happy mother's day". she started cying. I said what all her family had neglected to say. we talked and she said she felt much better. the morale: never underestimate the power of a kind word or a small, kind act.
