Morning Zen

my buddy george say's something to the effect "I may not be much but I am all I think about". I am learning more and more just how wrapped up in self I really am. Seeing myself with focus only on myself is a harsh reality. Want to view the myself not that way, helping others, giving freely, in service, and yet at the core is this absorption. I am not sure how to shrink the ego.

Did you forget who you are? You are the dude that makes small talk with Robert Plant in a frickin record store. Get back up on your pedastool!

Don't worry, when your head gets too big and your ego won't allow anyone else to ride in your truck with you, we will knock you off that pillar and make of fun you in the process.

We are your real friends. That's what we do. We support you until you get too full of yourself, then we knock you down a few knotches bringing you back into the real world. Then we go out for pizza...and make you pay. Because, well, you were being a self absorbed asshole and you should pay.

Don't be too hard on yourself, sir. What you have (ie: being caught up in the self then feeling guilty...)is called being human. It is not terminal. Oh wait, it is a little terminal...

Sincerely,

m- your friendly little reality stick
