Coffee Musings

We are a creation of our past. Like the bean, the location in the world in the soil the nearby trees and birds the loving hands of care takers. The picking and drying shipping and roasting. Oh the roasting. All those effect our flavor and who we are as the bean.

Morning Zen

Oh yes, the kindergarten of the mind. The kindergarten of the spirit. I go to spiritual kindergarten. I wonder at times if perhaps there is something more then this and I find no or afraid or like the dudes in black nike shoes waiting for a comet there is something more but... And so acceptance of who we are and what we do and our position in the world. Being just like everyone else. Being normal and ordinary and just a human being can be a hard pill to swallow. Remember the scene in the movie when Willem Dafoe tosses the seed and in a blink there is an apple tree. I have been thinking about that a lot as of late maybe it is the pears and plums but each time i spit out a seed I somehow expect a tree to blossom at that moment.

Morning Zen

Wondering. I am an advocate of getting help. Asking for help, very difficult. Process the workings of the mind with one who is experienced and trained in the workings of the mind. Self delusion and deception. The lies I tell my self. I can not expose them as a lie in my head for I formed them as truth based upon inadequate foundations of perceptions of reality. The lie is exposed when discussed with another. Learning now how to put aside the lie and the fear and approach that which needs to be changed.
Thinking lately about guides, mentors, teachers, the sage. Those who have gone on before us and know the experiences of their path and the lessons learned and the challenges forged. Yes different paths but common roads.

Blue Sage Studios - 5th Anniversary

Although we have been in our new space at the Urban Art building (1218 N. Western Ave.) for less then a year, the official founding date of Blue Sage Studios is marked on March 9th, 2003. It was on this most auspicious day that the old blue furnace was engaged in continuous operation. Since then we have seen many changes at the studio and we have made many new friends. I thank you all for your support through the years.

And so it is, Blue Sage Studios is celebrating five years since the founding of the glass studio. Come celebrate with us on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Bring your family and friends for some ice cream and treats.

Morning Zen

I miss the freedom of the road. Not really everything that goes along with that but the ideal of the freedom. The reality of living on the road. Moving and going and exploring and surviving. That is different. The thought of going anywhere, doing anything. Just being. As it is now places I want to visit and there is no time no energy and other things that take precedent. Places I have been to which I would like to return. Places seen and loved and carried henceforth. New places to explore and find. New wonders. It is not because this time or this place is not good because it is wonderful and fulfilling. It is just a draw, a call for the other.

No Country for Old Men

I saw this Oscar winner a few weeks ago. It is one of those movies that sticks with you for a while. Complex, beautiful, supremely acted and directed, really a very good story. I was trying to figure out how Llew could have been in Vietnam thinking the movie was present day. Figured everyone in Texas just drove old trucks. Reading today it was set in 1980 the time frame makes a lot more sense.
Highly recommended.

A Cohen brothers movie egg seen the other night. In Raising Arizona, Nicholas Cage has the infamous tattoo of Woody Woodpecker. In Gone in 60 Seconds, in the shop with Duvall about 15 minutes into the movie. The camera pans down and on the window behind the workbench is that Woody Woodpecker as a sticker.

Coffee Musings

The simplicity of new days with red tinted clouds streaming across bluing sky. Odd it seems now. As the country colors fade. What thought comes this morning? Dulled by sleep.
