TTT - My Maps

Technology tips and tricks on a regular basis. View this email in your browser My Maps More Google Goodness Greetings Sequoyah,  I am a huge fan of Google Maps and Google Earth. It is amazing what has been accomplished over the past few years. In Google Maps when a location is saved it puts a star on your map. The saved location is also sent to Google Bookmarks. The Google Maps shows on the computer and a mobile device. It is a great way to save important locations. One drawback is that map with saved locations can not be shared as a map to others. Enter... My Maps (https://www.google.com/maps/d/?dg=feature) A direct offshoot of Google Maps the My Maps feature online allows the user to save places on a map. Change the icon, add a description. And the map is shareable with anyone. Going to a conference with group? Mark places of interest, dining, venues, and share with the group. A great way to create a location based itinerary.  I put together a map of some of my favorite places in Santa Fe. TTT - Contact

Technology tips and tricks on a regular basis. View this email in your browser Contact Form Take Good Notes Greetings Sequoyah,  Kacy posted a link to the questions for the Principal Life chat for Wednesday evening twitter chat. The first question is How do you encourage teachers to keep close contact with parents? Also, how do you monitor to assure this takes place? That got me thinking about creating a parent contact log in Google Docs. Make it a template. Easy to fill out and then share the doc directly with the grade level principal. Not sure what to include, I started searching online and found a great site in getting ready for the first year of teaching from NC. The forms on the site are helpful along with a ton of great information for first year teachers.
