Tao Te Ching Chapter 15
I am not sure if anybody else reads the Tao. The Tao Te Ching is the Book of Changes or the book of the way. It is a collection of chapters written sometime like around 4 BC in China by Lao Tsu. We saw the birthplace of Lao Tsu when we were visiting China.
I think that this chapter is key in the view of others. We do not know much of anything outside of ourselves. We only know the appearance of things and can then infer or put ourselves into that which we see. Thus when we look at those things we each see something different is what we see is really a reflection of ourselves.
When I look at those things the 10,000 things can I view them and the master is described? Can I remain still and really see or do I glance around the only catch the reflection of myself in the world of which I am surrouned?

aboatman - aboatman's Google Page
aboatman - aboatman's Google Page
This is my new site at Google Pages. It is an easy to create website interface that publishes right up to google. No trouble at all. This is really very cool. The features are straitforward and the pages look pretty good. It is sort of blogger like but different too.

Chapter 14
This is one that goes deeper then deep. Often looking out there is always a label. Always a defination. Always something to constrain or box. I am thinking that we must elimate the boxes. The boxes that in which be put others espically. It is time to free them all. The convinence and the ease in which I place people there is dangerous.

Latte Art

I made it to Intelligensia yesterday. Also to Carabou coffee, also to the Map Room. For Lattes. The coffee art comes from Intelligensia. It was a good cup of coffee too.
Keep on keeping on.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 13
Tao Te Ching Chapter 13
Here I wonder. The word disgrace is not to the liking of our way of thinking. The word sounds as if we have lost all and it is time for harikari. But the explaination of the word, the sentance, makes for understanding. There is no shame. Remove the feelings from the results and really everything is okay. Is it then when we have really removed our ego from the world that we are able to love it completly.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 12
Tao Te Ching Chapter 12
We sek and seek. We run and do. We overload on all of the thinkgs that are offered from a full life. Do we sit. Reflect. Wait. I am wondering if that which is lost in those pursuits is really nothing. nothing changes in our race for that whatever the outside thinkg may be. Nothing changes becuase we are not allowing ourselves time for us to change. For the inner being to flourish and grow and evolve. We continue to move forward in a material position and yet that striving and earning and outward growth is the thing that is really preventing that inner. Take the time today and the next few to stop the race and recharge the batteries of the soul.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 11
Tao Te Ching Chapter 11
A couple of days ago we talked about going to the edge of something but not beyond it. Looking now the edge does not even need to be close. Restraint. Hold back. Safe in not pushing the envelope?
Today of course that which is not there perhaps helps us to grow. That seeking to fill the empty spaces of our lives. With what will yours be filled with today?

Tao Te Ching Chapter 10
Today we are given a method for being. A way to walk through the world and yet it seems that the nature of man is to distort the path, to veer off the road a bit onto the bummpy little things on the side of the highway. You can drive just as well but it makes a lot of noise inside the vechicle. I enjoyed the questions. Can you walk this path and stay pure.

Tao Te Ching Chapter 9
Tao Te Ching Chapter 9
To paraphrase the grateful dead - to much of everything is still never enough.
I think the Tao is showing us today that a moderate pace is better. That it is easy to go beyond. Stopping early instead of going to the brink usually produces a better outcome.
Ghost Dog said that when it is raining you can run from eve to eve finding protection or just walk in the rain, you get just as wet either way.
good stuff.
