You've Got Mail
1998, tom hanks and meg ryan. Interesting state of the union back then. Dial up AOL all but gone today abd the big box book stores are all closing. Don't know if You've Got Twitter would be the same.

RV
It is time for the RV to go to another home. A new owner. One who will care for it. I need to make the decision to let it go.

The spiritual life
I heard briefly, during the lenten season pulling the weeds to prepare the grounds for the spring to come.
Pulling the weeds of life that are no longer useful to daily living.

Rules
What are they? Spoken and unspoken. How do we communicate these to folks? How can a community decide what they are and put them into effect? If everyone who is a stakeholder does not follow the rules or enforce the rules what purpose is served? Do we have a rule to just have a rule and it serves no purpose? Was it good once and the changes in the mores and norms make the rule obsolete? Does the rule maker see the purpose for the rule and yet when implemented the rule is a silly construct that inhibits and harms more then not?

Update
The house is good. Mara really has it looking good. I was able to plant some vines over spring break and hope they grow well.
School is good. Very busy time of year.

Johnny Edwards
I have a headlight out on the truck. Dropped by the toyota dealer in Edmond to get it fixed. Wandering around a couple look familiar. Johnny Edwards is sitting there. They live in Elk City. Johnny is the son of Florence and Charlie. His sister was Mary. Growing up in Cordell, Florence was my "cookie lady". We moved from there after third grade. It was amazing to bump into Johnny and his wife.
I think about Florence and those times often. The times growing up and learning and playing. Memoeries flood back. Bright lights in my life.

Shel Silverstein
Been a very long time since I picked up "where the sidewalk end". It reads as a whole different book as an adult than a child.

OTA Conference
Random thoughts
Folks want wireless in the classroom and yet the schools themselves do not have wireless devices nor will they provide them. Leaving all the wireless need to the individual to provide.
Folks like David Warlick and Wes Fryer have information everywhere. It is amazing they have been able to catalogue and keep vast amounts of resources. Feeling the need to consolidate and publish for others to access.
Thinking what to present. It is not new to me so I wonder what good would it do to present and realize that it may be new to others. Finding something to present is the trick.

Housing and Banks
The bank just has to wait out the current market. Of course houses fall into disrepair during this time which will put general contractors and handymen to work when the houses sell.
The cycle on this is odd too. Just a for instance.
fellow owns land. Holds onto it for a long time. sells it for a very good price to a developer. Developer sells lots to builders at a higher price, developer builds a house on spec and then sells it to folks at a higher price, or not and losses tons of money. People get the house on a mortgage from a bank. Folks find they can not make the payments on the mortgage so the house goes to the bank. The bank does not want to own the house. But they can not sell it for what it is worth or what is left owed on the house. If they sell it for less money then what is owed on it they will owe someone money somewhere.
It is like the Potter Field problem. Your money is not really in the bank. Your money is in the houses, your money is in the cars, your money is in some Super PAC.
