Daily Meditation:

By becoming attached to names and forms, not realizing that they have no more basis than the activities of the mind itself, error rises and the way to emancipation is blocked. -Buddha
I am thinking I may have to find another site for the daily meditation as this one repeats often. Granted this is a good one to reflect upon again. Let it be. Things are as they are. People are who they are. The world operates as the world operates. Understanding is difficult and perhaps not attainable. It is in understanding that we try to control? Acceptance is not easy but it requires not our input or interpretation of the nature of things. We just go with it. No control.
So the computer is the computer but it is not the computer and we no longer see the computer. We interact with the computer as a tool and it does what we desire (some of the time) and we do not use it really beyond the capacity in which we need it to fulfill our daily activities. The computer tho is much greater and capable then the purposes for which we tap. So we begin to see the computer as an object fulfilling only a certain need. We have to take off the blinders and begin to look at it and our relationship to the computer differently. We have done the same thing, the same way for so very long it is difficult to break free.
I think that applies to other things in life as well. Our relationships with others have been the way they are for so long there is nothing different. The past has dictated how we view them and our interactions. What we remember and reactions and feelings dictate current interactions. Both have changed many times and the interactions do have the possibility of being different today. Willingness to change and to do things differently today. Holding onto the past and issues there can be detrimental. It can dictate a false set of expectations. It blocks us in effect from anything new. Granted many times nothing changes, there is no difference and the protections and guards we have in place so we do not get hurt or hurt another are important. These things where they can inhibit our progress in some situations also serve to lighten our load and give us comfort. At what point are we willing to let go of all those things within us?
