NY Times Photo Site with guest editor Greetings Sequoyah, From Vicki Keller our guest editor today. This is a pretty cool site that could be used in history- or other classes depending on the photo posted. I use it in publications for caption writing. A super exercise we do is "What's Going on in This Picture?" Every Monday, a usually newish news photo is posted. They have some specific directions for what they want kids to do, including joining an online discussion about the photo, but the gist of it is students are asked to try and make sense what the photo is showing by context or other clues. On Friday, the "answer" is given about what the photo actually depicts. http://learning.blogs.nytimes.com/category/lesson-plans/whats-going-on-in-this-picture/?_r=0 Thanks and don't forget to be awesome, Andy |
