View this email in your browser OzoBots More then a toy Greetings Sequoyah,  over the next few little whiles I hope to be sharing some of my experience at the OTA/Encyclomedia conference. If you have not been following the progress on Twitter do a search for #OTAEM15 to see lots and lots and lots of great information.  One of the coolio things I saw were the OzoBots (http://www.ozobot.com/). These neat little programmable robots follow basic commands. Draw a colored path and they follow it. TTT - Blogger Links

View this email in your browser Blogger Make a Link Greetings Sequoyah,  I have been following the progress of the #epscohort15 and their technology adventures. There is a lot of great blogging happening. It is really neat to see technology in use. I am getting some great ideas too. If you have not had the opportunity search the #epscohort15 on twitter to see links to blogs. Several of our teachers are actively posting their experiences. I hope it continues even after the required class.  One of the things I have notices in many of the blogs is the lack of the Link. People are taking about websites, hardware, and apps. Blogger Links

I am reading a lot of really great blog posts about technology. It is great to learn about new sites and software and how teachers can infuse the technology into the classroom.

No offence to the outstanding teachers creating these posts but most of you are missing a vital component in the blogging process. It is Link. When a website is referenced in a blog post is it important to insert a hyperlink into the post. This way your readers can easily click the link and access the information. It is like citing the resources in a research paper.

To put in a hyperlink in blogger there is a button on the main Toolbar called Link. You can highlight text and make a link. I like to copy and paste the website address from websites so users know where the link goes before they click on it as well.

On a side note I find it very interesting that the state department of education does not have technology as a focal point for instruction. Under Sandy Garrett the technology department was extensive and highly effective. With the advent of Barresi the entire technology team was dismantled. Under the new leadership there is still no technology team in place. If it starts from the top down and we want to infuse our teaching with technology we need a great team of educators in place teaching teachers.

TTT - Sketching

Technology tips and tricks on a regular basis. View this email in your browser Sketching An Alternative Way Greetings Sequoyah,  Staying with the Inktober theme a bit I was turned onto Travel Sketching (http://intelligenttravel.nationalgeographic.com/2015/09/29/travel-sketching-101/) today. I struggle with art, drawing and perspective are mysteries. Art in college was a struggle. Now when I pick up a pen and start to draw I try to remember to not take myself to seriously and try not to worry about failure. We are working on that yet principle. I can not draw, yet. I can not paint, yet. You know the Edmond Fine Arts Institute has classes in all things art. So I encourage us all to break out of our shell just a bit.  I think with art and drawing in a foreign place it allows us to settle down. To relax. To take a bit of time and look at things differently. Certainly getting a picture with the iPhone is great.
